Fortune's Weave

Characters

One job each. Train what supports the job, let the army cover the rest.

Cai— playing now

  • Cai

    Cai

    Mobile spear frontline

    Train
    Spear, Rider
    Secondary
    Flier
    Not a priority yet
    Sword, Axe
    Safe
Ornius Rider → Light Cavalry → Bardinger
    Sturdy Alternative
Ornius Rider → Armored Ornius Rider → Cataphract
    Primary weapons
    Spear
    Utility weapons
    Javelin, Short Spear

    My decision

Keep early training focused on Spear + Rider. The Wooden Sword stays as situational equipment; it is not the build direction.

Cai makes the most sense to me as a mobile unit who gets to the right part of the map and attacks with a weapon/class lane that reinforces that mobility.

  • Peter

    Cai

    Dedicated ranged physical damage

    Train
    Bow, Infantry
    Safe
    Hunter → Archer → Sniper
    Primary weapons
    Bow

    My decision

Specialize instead of trying to make Peter a general-purpose melee unit.

I want one character whose job is obvious when a distant or flying target needs to disappear.

  • Tialla

    Cai

Support and healing mage who can still attack

    Train
    White Magic, Black Magic
    Support
    Diviner → Priest → Bishop
    Offensive Alternative
    Diviner → Shaman → Ovate

    My decision

Keep healing/support first, but maintain enough offense that she is not idle whenever nobody needs healing.

  • Guzran

    Cai

    Flexible physical roster glue

    Safe
Use the physical lane that best matches his actual starting ranks and the team's current gap

    My decision

Do not force an exotic build just because flexibility exists. Use him to cover whichever physical role the active team actually needs.

  • Ultand

    Cai

    Magic/healing hybrid

    Train
    White Magic, Black Magic
    Secondary
    Brawling
    Safe
Diviner → Priest or Shaman → Bishop or Ovate

    My decision

Keep the magic/healing identity clean on the first run. Save the stranger Brawling-hybrid experiment for later if it still sounds fun.

Leda

  • Leda

    Leda

Ranged utility leader / support action specialist

    Train
    Bow, Infantry
    Bow
    Hunter → Archer → Sniper
    Route Specific
    Dancer

    My decision

Learn her first as a useful bow unit, but treat unlocking Dancer as an important route goal because action economy can matter more than another attack.

  • Sirocco

    Leda

    Fast sword specialist by default

    Train
    Sword, Infantry
    Safe
    Gladiator → Myrmidon → Shido
    Alternative
    Diviner → magic specialization

    My decision

Use the sword lane first so Leda's already broad party keeps distinct jobs.

  • Buccar

    Leda

    High-power physical attacker

    Train
    Axe, Infantry
    Safe
    Gladiator → Brigand → Warrior
    Alternative
    Ornius Rider

    My decision

Keep him offensive by default because Catania already owns the heavy-defense job.

  • Olympia

    Leda

    Primary healer

    Train
    White Magic
    Secondary
    Black Magic
    Safe
    Diviner → Priest → Bishop

    My decision

White Magic first, and keep it simple. Having one clear primary healer is what lets the other magic-capable characters take offensive risks.

  • Mu

    Leda

    Brawling frontline

    Train
    Brawling, Infantry
    Safe
    Gladiator → Pugilist → Warrior

    My decision

Commit to Brawling properly — Gladiator into Pugilist into Warrior.

Mu is where Brawling stops being a proficiency in a menu and becomes a role I actually want in the army.

  • Catania

    Leda

    Defensive heavy / physical wall

    Train
    Heavy
    Secondary
    Spear, Axe
    Safe
Soldier → Armored Knight → Dreadnought

    My decision

Soldier into Armored Knight into Dreadnought, and use her as the unit I can deliberately put where a fragile one would die.

Heavy development exists for a reason, and having somewhere safe to stand changes how the rest of the party can move.

Dietrich

  • Dietrich

    Dietrich

    Fast sword frontline / duelist

    Train
    Sword, Infantry
    Safe
    Gladiator → Myrmidon → Shido

    My decision

Sword and Infantry, the obvious lane.

I do not need to invent an exotic build just because alternate builds exist.

  • Fabio

    Dietrich

Offensive black-magic specialist with support utility

    Train
    Black Magic
    Secondary
    White Magic
    Safe
    Diviner → Shaman → Ovate

    My decision

Black Magic first, White Magic kept as secondary so he keeps some support flexibility.

Dietrich's party is heavy with physical presence, which makes a clear magic specialist unusually valuable in it.

  • Esmeralda

    Dietrich

    Heavy frontline tank

    Train
    Heavy
    Secondary
    Spear, Axe
    Safe
Soldier → Armored Knight → Dreadnought

    My decision

Heavy development, and put her where the physical pressure is going to be ugly. That is the whole job.

  • Mikaela

    Dietrich

    Aggressive physical attacker

    Train
    Axe, Infantry
    Secondary
    Brawling
    Safe
    Gladiator → Brigand → Warrior

    My decision

Axe and Infantry, kept clearly distinct from Dietrich's sword role and Esmeralda's tank role.

  • Yang Jie

    Dietrich

    Fighting/healing hybrid

    Train
    White Magic, Brawling
    Safe
Priest/Pugilist direction → War Monk-style hybrid as requirements permit

    My decision

A hybrid earns the slot by doing two real jobs well, not by spreading training across every weapon category.

Theodora

  • Theodora

    Theodora

Durable spear leader / central frontline

    Train
    Spear
    Secondary
    Heavy, Rider, Authority
    Defensive
Soldier → Armored Knight → Dreadnought
    Mobile
Soldier → mounted prerequisites → Light Cavalry → Bardinger

    My decision

Start from her natural Soldier strengths, then choose bulk versus mobility based on how she actually feels in my hands.

  • Bonaventure

    Theodora

Primary offensive mage with support flexibility

    Train
    Black Magic
    Secondary
    White Magic
    Safe
    Diviner → Shaman → Ovate
    Support Alternative
    Diviner → Priest → Bishop

    My decision

Black Magic first, White Magic secondary.

Sofia can carry the cleaner healer identity, which leaves Bonaventure free to be the answer when physical Defense is the problem.

  • Tobias

    Theodora

    Strong physical melee attacker

    Train
    Axe, Brawling, Infantry
    Safe
Gladiator → Brigand or Pugilist → Warrior

    My decision

Axe or Brawling plus Infantry — a clear job that does not duplicate Theodora's spear identity.

  • Lysander

    Theodora

    Fast/mobile physical unit

    Train
    Spear, Rider
    Safe
Ornius Rider → Light Cavalry → Bardinger

    My decision

Treat this as a safe first direction, not a rigid meta prescription; use his actual starting ranks and stat development to confirm it.

  • Lilian

    Theodora

    Dedicated archer

    Train
    Bow, Infantry
    Safe
    Hunter → Archer → Sniper

    My decision

Hunter into Archer into Sniper. The straightforward answer is good enough here.

  • Sofia

    Theodora

    Dedicated healer

    Train
    White Magic
    Secondary
    Black Magic
    Safe
    Diviner → Priest → Bishop

    My decision

    White Magic first.

A reliable dedicated healer is what lets Bonaventure stay offensive without making the army's healing fragile.
