Dad Save Point

Games are more fun when you understand what you're doing.

My personal game guide and memory system. Where I am in the game I am playing, what I already decided, and what I am doing next — written for me first, readable by anyone.

Leda — Part ILeda Part I — first ~120-turn free-time window; arena training unlockedSwitch 2
Current point
After the Lechner escape encounter I reached my first approximately 120-turn free-time window, and arena training has now unlocked. My Leda team is already roughly level 9-14, with Leda about 14 and Mu about 10-11 (all approximate). Leda already has Bow C or better, Mini Bow, Longbow and Chosen Sword. Mu earned Gauntlets C and Swords D in the Lechner battle before the arena was even available; she has Qiankun Circles obtained via Cai's carriage shortcut. Buccar has Da Mina Axe. The blacksmith is not unlocked yet, so weapon maintenance is my near-term concern. Guzran retained Pale Raven Support level 3 across the Cai and Leda stories.
Next objective
Use the current free-time window for intentional weapon/class development, weekly activities, Support and repair planning rather than unnecessary inn auto-leveling. Preserve valuable Combat Art durability until the blacksmith opens. Check the exact chapter/deadline and roster before assigning turns.

Team and build reminders

  • CURRENT: Leda Part I, first ~120-turn free-time window after Lechner; arena unlocked, blacksmith NOT yet unlocked.
  • Estimated Lv 9-14 across Leda team; Leda ~14 with Bow C+, Mini Bow, Longbow and Chosen Sword.
  • Mu ~10-11; Gauntlets C and Swords D ALREADY earned during Lechner combat before arena; Qiankun Circles purchased.
  • Buccar: Da Mina Axe already acquired; weapon maintenance is a current risk without blacksmith.
  • Guzran retained Pale Raven Support Lv 3 from Cai into Leda; do not assume every Support relationship was tested.
  • Cai finale: mostly one-hit kills except Goliath/Bertrand; late army high 30s-low 40s; ~1 possible casualty, Sofia uncertain.
  • My goal: overwhelmingly decisive victories as a payoff for mastering preparation; don't suggest making combat close for excitement.
  • Play ALL four Part I stories AND all four War Arcs manually to master each roster; do not default to War skips.
  • Cai carriage network opened early Leda shopping and Qiankun Circles; dungeon access does NOT mean those dungeons were cleared.

First ~120-turn free-time period after Lechner. Arena training only just unlocked, yet Leda has Bow C+, Mu has Gauntlets C and Sword D, and the team is around levels 9-14. I already acquired Leda's Mini Bow, Longbow and Chosen Sword, Mu's Qiankun Circles and Buccar's Da Mina Axe. Guzran's Pale Raven Support 3 carried across stories. Preparation and overwhelming victory are the reward I am actively pursuing, not a problem to correct.

Why this site exists

I started reading game manuals in the back of the car at twelve, and I have never really stopped wanting to know how a thing works before I play it. The problem with being that person as an adult is that a week goes by between sessions and the whole model falls out of my head. So this is where it lives instead: where I was, what I already decided, and what I am doing next — written for me first, and readable by anyone who plays the same way.

  1. My game memory

My personal game guide, memory system, play journal, and decision log.

  2. A public guide

A useful public guide for players who like understanding a game without having every decision made for them.

Husband, father, developer, and lifelong player

Game Boy and Game Gear first, then the Super Nintendo, Nintendo 64 and GameCube, with a Game Boy Color, a Game Boy Advance, an Advance SP and a DS running alongside them. After a long gap from Nintendo hardware, my family bought a Switch in 2025 and a Switch 2 in 2026. I still approach games a lot like I approach board-game rules: I want to know what everything means, why a system works, and how to make good decisions without having somebody else solve the game for me.

Understand everything. Optimize only what makes the game better.

I like strong builds, efficient progression, and knowing the rules. I also know I can turn preparation into the entire game if I am not careful. This site exists partly so I can save decisions once, stop re-litigating them, and keep moving toward actually finishing games.
