Cai Chapter 12: First-Turn Plan for Just One Wish
Start Cai's final Part I Free Time cleanly: check deadlines, complete time-sensitive quests, recruit and certify the main team, repair equipment, and prepare for the finale without wasting turns.

My short answer
On October 30 I reported just reaching Cai Part I Chapter 12 Just One Wish, turn 1. The guide schedule is November 4–27. Treat this as the last Part I opportunity for recruitment, side quests, smithing, mount care and class certifications. Confirm the new quest list, then prioritize permanent upgrades and the eight preferred characters. The latest exact party levels come from October 29 Chapter 10 screenshots, not Chapter 12; no later level gains have yet been measured.
- Where I am
- After the Lechner escape encounter I reached my first approximately 120-turn free-time window, and arena training has now unlocked. My Leda team is already roughly level 9-14, with Leda about 14 and Mu about 10-11 (all approximate). Leda already has Bow C or better, Mini Bow, Longbow and Chosen Sword. Mu earned Gauntlets C and Swords D in the Lechner battle before the arena was even available; she has Qiankun Circles obtained via Cai's carriage shortcut. Buccar has Da Mina Axe. The blacksmith is not unlocked yet, so weapon maintenance is my near-term concern. Guzran retained Pale Raven Support level 3 across the Cai and Leda stories.
- Next
- Use the current free-time window for intentional weapon/class development, weekly activities, Support and repair planning rather than unnecessary inn auto-leveling. Preserve valuable Combat Art durability until the blacksmith opens. Check the exact chapter/deadline and roster before assigning turns.

Continue from here: Chapter 12, turn 1
Published schedule: Free Time begins November 4 and ends November 27 in-game. Community guidance describes approximately 92 turns of the final preparation period; check the displayed counter rather than assuming all 92 are still available after moving. This chapter is the last normal Part I opportunity for open-world recruitment and exploring, before progressing into War.
Historic stats: My most recent full party images were taken October 29 in Chapter 10. The character levels listed below are historical screenshot-confirmed baselines, not the current Chapter 12 levels. I passed Chapter 11 since then and may have gained EXP, gear, mastery or other upgrades, but haven't reported those changes. Full October 29 roster and every ability.
First-turn priorities, in order
- Open Calendar, Bulletin Board and Quest Log now. Note the date, uncompleted quests, newly available kindness requests, and whether any previously accepted requests need their turn-in action. Spend no discretionary turns before verifying deadlines.
- Pick up new local quests. RPG Site lists That Dark Hero from a Passionate Woman in Arena Plaza (talk to Dietrich near Mars Temple) and The Mystery of Headman's Rock from a Temple Soldier by the staircase (defeat a necrodragon). Each reports 7,000G and 130 Renown; listed deadline Nov 27. Check in-game NPC positions and objectives.
- Review all recruitment and Supports. Part I recruitment is about to close. Do not delay a must-have character behind optional plant gathering. Check which characters can actually join Cai's route and whether their prerequisite materials can be acquired in time.
- Check current certifications and licenses. Cai and Alexandra are already strong on mounts; focus class decisions on the characters who need improvement. Do not promote at a low displayed success chance merely because an Advanced License is available.
- Inspect blacksmith, materials and convoy. Repair key weapons and refine the specific ones this army uses. Community guides warn that blacksmith upgrades and convoy access are more restricted in Part II. Check each chosen character's carried inventory before entering the finale.
- Inspect captured mounts and bond levels. I reported obtaining a high-Movement-bonus Ornius, but have not confirmed its name, bond or equipped statistics. Compare it with Cai's Meganius without sacrificing too much Attack Speed. Maintain Bucephalus's excellent mobility for Alexandra.
- Use remaining discretionary time for the desired team. Favor Noctula, Sofia, Jasmine, Peter and Guzran when gains are still efficient. Do not train Ultand purely from a sense of obligation. The garden vegetable quest is optional, not a reason to spend large portions of Free Time traveling aimlessly.
Main eight: last measured checkpoint
| Unit | Last verified level (Oct 29) | Last verified class | Chapter 12 focus |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cai | 41 | Armored Ornius Rider | Keep speed and mobility; compare the newly caught high-Movement Ornius |
| Alexandra | 36 | Wing Soldier | Keep Bucephalus and flying; improve actual spear damage |
| Tialla | 36 | Ovate | Use existing Lend Strength+, Lend Defense+, Physic and offensive magic |
| Peter | 32 | Archer | Check Sniper options; repair/refine ranged weapon |
| Guzran | 32 | Myrmidon | Check sword certification and damage; guard against enemy magic |
| Noctula | 31 | Pugilist | Finish valuable Brawling class mastery and improve offense |
| Sofia | 31 | Priest | Check whether the previously remaining 8 Priest mastery points were earned in Chapter 11; Bishop later |
| Jasmine | 30 | Armored Knight | Damage-focused rearguard counterattacks; verify Great Counter and best owned axe |
Specific historical equipment checks, not current claims: On October 29 Guzran's Cleansing Blade+1 had 10/20 durability, Peter's Tempest Bow+1 14/20. Jasmine had a Short Axe equipped and Iron Axe+1 in inventory, although a Da Mina Axe+1 had previously been reported purchased. Inspect current inventories/convoy; do not assume those exact values survived all Chapter 11 actions.
Suggested last-chapter training order
| Priority | Investment | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Sofia's remaining class mastery, if not already finished | It was only eight points short on the earlier screen, and her healing is essential |
| 2 | Noctula's Pugilist mastery and useful damage | Brawler is the unit I chose to develop instead of Ultand |
| 3 | Jasmine's counterattack ability, weapon and next exam | Actual Lv30 stats were high Protection but 0 AS; class EXP and a better axe can matter more than a few levels |
| 4 | Peter and Guzran's weapons/classes | Fix weaknesses in the ranged and sword roles |
| 5 | Cai and Alexandra's mounts and refinements | Their actual combat effectiveness and flight are worth more than promotions for their own sake |
This is a priority order, not a requirement to hit new levels or a claim that any mastery progress remains unchanged.
Before advancing into the final battle
Lock in the party before moving to the last story objective. The RPG Site walkthrough marks this as the final recruitment and exploration period. Anna's Notebook recommends filling inventories with important weapons and consumables now because storage and upgrades become restricted during Part II.
Battle preparation, without story spoilers: the final map can split the team into separate wings. Prepare healing access in both wings, include ranged/magical damage, and avoid putting all slow units on the same side. Use the battle's real deployment screen and Foresight to make the final assignments. No story boss outcome has been reported.
Important future progression choice
Completing Cai's Chapter 12 completes Cai's Part I; it does not mean I have already entered Part II. I can choose whether to play Cai's War arc next or develop the other protagonists' Part I armies first. Do not decide that order merely because the current Part I ending is near.

Oct 30 new firsthand update: reached Cai Part I Chapter 12 Just One Wish, turn 1. No new character levels, equipment changes or Chapter 11 event outcomes supplied; the October 29 roster is last directly measured. Historical: Oct 29 Switch screenshots prove all eight exact levels, classes, HP, combat stats, current equipped gear and character abilities: Cai41 Alexandra36 Tialla36 Peter32 Guzran32 Noctula31 Sofia31 Jasmine30. Also the personal background screens for all eight. Fewer than about 20 turns left in Cai Part I Chapter 10, with Giant's-Print Fort and Bertrand/Talimun complete. The Oct 26 observations and older level-28 Jasmine screenshot remain historical; do not infer unreported level-up rolls, completed Anna quest or a chapter replay.

Cai's Main Eight: October 29 Screenshot Checkpoint
With fewer than roughly 20 turns left before Cai's semifinal, my preferred eight are Cai 41, Alexandra 36, Tialla 36, Peter 32, Guzran 32, Noctula 31, Sofia 31 and Jasmine 30. Repair Guzran's 10/20 sword and Peter's 14/20 bow, use Tialla's learned Lend Strength+ and Lend Defense+, finish Sofia's last 8 Priest mastery points when convenient, and don't re-grind Ultand.

Jasmine: Build a Counterattacking Fortress
Screenshot-confirmed Oct 29 Jasmine is Lv30 Armored Knight, HP42, Str19, Spd8, Dex24, Def29, Res13, AS0, Mov4. Short Axe is equipped (25/25); Iron Axe+1, Hexlock Shield and Elixir are in inventory. She has Raging Counter and Defense Formation equipped. Da Mina Axe+1 was verbally reported previously but is not visible in this screenshot. Keep her in the rear guard, support with Tialla's now-confirmed Lend Strength+ and Lend Defense+, and test Dreadnought when the class exam is viable.
