Fortune's Weave

Chapter 7: My Exact Last 29 Turns

The exact plan for my current Cai save: Monday 7/2 at 12:00, 29 Turns left, all current-week activities already done, Cai level 20, Goliath waiting on Giant's Meat, and the Braganca Brotherhood qualifier at Monday 7/9 12:00.

My short answer

Spend about 19 Turns on the world map, keep 3 Turns reserved to return to Dagsion by the Sunday 7/8 reset, do the refreshed weeklies immediately, then stay in Dagsion and use the final safe Turns on Combat Auto-Activities. Do not go to Sand-Shadow Fort: Cai cannot enter Nysiades during Part I.

Where I am
Chapter 7 Free Time 5, second attempt. It is Monday 7/2 at 12:00 with exactly 29 Turns remaining before the Monday 7/9 12:00 qualifier deadline. This week's activities are already complete. All available quests are finished, Renown is 7, and Cai is level 20. Alexandra and Nydine are recruited, Castor's Renown-7 mentorship is complete, the Theater is unlocked, Smyrnos Bless Level 2 is active, and the Windstone from Collapsed Fort is already secured.
Next
Turn the remaining Chapter 7 time into power without missing the qualifier. Cai cannot enter Nysiades in Part I, so do not waste Turns trying to reach Sand-Shadow Fort. Check Giant-icon skirmishes south of Breston and west of Credna's Temple for Goliath's 3 Giant's Meat, and use Cai-accessible level-appropriate fights such as Cave Behind the Falls in Castalia for the main EXP push. Because the current week's activities are already done, stay out training through the week but reserve enough travel to be back in Dagsion by the Sunday 7/8 reset. Do the refreshed weeklies immediately, then spend the final safe Turns on in-town Combat Auto-Activities rather than leaving Dagsion again before the Monday 7/9 12:00 qualifier. Bow EXP +1 remains the next planned Boon.

This guide is for my exact current save, not a generic Chapter 7 checklist.

  • Date/time: Monday 7/2 at 12:00
  • Turns remaining: 29
  • Deadline: Monday 7/9 at 12:00
  • Current week's weekly activities: already complete
  • Cai: level 20
  • Renown: 7
  • All Chapter 7 quests: complete
  • Alexandra and Nydine: recruited
  • Goliath: Support + Renown complete; needs 3 Giant's Meat
  • Goal: turn the rest of the chapter into useful EXP without missing the Braganca Brotherhood qualifier again

First correction: I cannot go to Sand-Shadow Fort

My earlier plan said Sand-Shadow Fort.

That advice was wrong for Cai's Part I save.

Sand-Shadow Fort is in Nysiades, and Cai cannot explore Nysiades during Part I. I should not spend a single Turn trying to find a route into it.

The useful Giant's Meat plan for Cai is instead to watch for Giant-icon skirmishes, especially in the areas players have reported south of Breston and west of Credna's Temple.

Those two spots are targets to check, not guarantees. If the icon is not there, I do not keep burning Turns bouncing between them hoping the map will cooperate.

The math that controls the whole week

One Free Time Turn is six in-game hours.

From Monday 7/2 12:00 to Sunday 7/8 00:00 is 22 Turns.

That Sunday boundary matters because the weekly activities refresh then.

I have already completed the current week's activities, so there is no reason to come home Saturday just to repeat things I have already done.

My safe budget is therefore:

PhaseTurnsWhat I am doing
Expeditionabout 19Giant hunting + useful EXP
Return buffer3Get physically back to Dagsion before Sunday 00:00
Sunday onwardabout 7 displayed Turns remainFresh weeklies first, then stay in town

The important number is 10 Turns remaining.

If I am still away from Dagsion when the counter reaches about 10, I stop chasing one more fight and start heading home. Nineteen Turns spent from the current save lands around Saturday 7/7 06:00. That gives me three full six-hour movement blocks to recover from a bad route or a farther-than-expected map position and still reach Dagsion around the Sunday reset.

If I get home early, that is fine. I can use an Inn Combat Auto-Activity to advance time without leaving the capital.

Phase 1 — Giant's Meat first, but do not let RNG eat the chapter

My first priority on the map is Giant-icon skirmishes.

Check the areas:

  • south of Breston
  • west of Credna's Temple

A Giant kill can drop the Giant's Meat Goliath needs.

I need 3 total.

But this is not a "do nothing else until three Giants appear" plan. The spawn locations are community-observed rather than a guaranteed three-Giant route.

My rule is:

If a Giant icon is reasonably on the path, take it. If there is no Giant icon, pivot immediately to EXP instead of wasting Turns searching empty roads.

Goliath can wait. The 7/9 qualifier cannot.

Phase 2 — Spend the rest of the expedition fighting above Cai's current level

Cai is level 20, so I want level 22-23 content rather than clearing old level-6 or level-12 dungeons just because they are nearby.

Best current anchors:

Cave Behind the Falls — Castalia — ideal level 22

This is the safest named target.

Chapter 7 already pushes Cai into Castalia after the Trouble at the Gate quest, and the dungeon's Part I ideal level is 22.

That puts it almost exactly where I want it with Cai at level 20.

Cougar Woodlands — Braxithea — ideal level 23

If it is already open and convenient on my current map, this is even better for the deliberate-overlevel plan.

It also has Muen, a spear, in its Part I chest.

I do not cross half the world just because the number is one level higher, though. Travel Turns are part of the cost. Cave Behind the Falls at 22 is better than wasting four extra Turns reaching a 23.

Other useful fallback

Cindered Road Cave is also ideal level 22 if it is already open and fits the direction I am traveling.

The rule is proximity first, then level.

My exact world-map loop

Starting from Dagsion on Monday 7/2 at noon:

  1. Use the Carriage whenever its unlocked stations shorten the route.
  2. Check whether a Giant-icon skirmish is available toward Breston or Credna's Temple.
  3. Take Giant fights that are on a sensible route.
  4. Between Giant opportunities, clear the nearest level-22/23 dungeon or skirmish that gives Cai's core meaningful EXP.
  5. Keep grouping world-map movement efficiently: a Turn can move up to three map segments, so do not spend a whole Turn moving only one segment unless I actually need that stop.
  6. When the counter reaches 10 Turns remaining, the expedition is over. Start returning to Dagsion.
  7. I want to be inside Dagsion by Sunday 7/8 00:00.

If I already have all 3 Giant's Meat before the return point, I recruit Goliath when practical. I do not make a long detour home solely for the recruitment if it would wreck the training loop; the Sunday return is already coming.

Sunday 7/8 — do the refreshed week immediately

When Sunday rolls over, the weekly limits refresh.

Because I am already back in Dagsion, I do the normal routine immediately:

  1. Pale Raven.
  2. Stable.
  3. Accept Karma from completed Notable Deeds.
  4. Talk to red/new characters and turn in anything relevant.
  5. Temple Service.
  6. Arena combat training.
  7. Meals.
  8. Recruit Goliath if I now have all 3 Giant's Meat.
  9. Any other free weekly facility action I actually care about.

I do not leave Dagsion again after this reset.

That is the part that makes this plan safe.

The final Sunday-to-Monday Turns: level without risking the qualifier

After the Sunday weekly reset I should have roughly 7 displayed Turns left from the original 29-Turn counter.

I stay in Dagsion.

Use Combat Auto-Activities at the Inn on Cai and the core units I want to push.

These spend Turns but keep me in the capital, so there is no return-trip risk.

My safe version is to use about 5 of those final Turns, then stop and look at the calendar/counter before spending anything else.

If the game clearly shows that one more Auto-Activity still ends before the Monday 7/9 12:00 deadline, I can use it.

I do not spend the last possible Turn blindly.

If I still want the "rent a room" Notable Deed progress, a room/rest that spends a Turn replaces one Combat Auto-Activity; it does not get added on top.

What level am I aiming for?

The target remains roughly level 24-25 for Cai.

That is a personal target, not a requirement.

If the level-22/23 fights plus the final Auto-Activities put him at 23 and the training has become boring, move on.

If he reaches 25 and the stronger-team feeling is still fun, that is exactly what I wanted.

The warning sign is boredom, not being overleveled.

The one-screen version

Now: Mon 7/2 12:00 — 29 Turns — weeklies already done

29 → 10 Turns left : Giant-icon skirmishes + nearest useful level-22/23 fights.

At 10 Turns left : stop roaming and head home.

By Sun 7/8 00:00 : be in Dagsion.

Sunday reset : do Pale Raven, stable, deeds, red characters, Temple, Arena, meals, Goliath recruitment if ready.

After Sunday chores : do not leave town. Spend final safe Turns on Combat Auto-Activities.

Mon 7/9 12:00 : Braganca Brotherhood qualifier.

That is the plan I want Dad Save Point to show me when I pick the controller back up.
