Nintendo Switch Sports Resort

Our new pick-up-and-play father-and-son game. Stuart and I have already tried several sports, and I was surprised by how enjoyable Table Tennis was. The island exploration may be an equally big draw: flying around Wuhu Island looking for photo spots was unexpectedly relaxing, and spotting a distant island turned a sports session into a little unscripted adventure.

Wuhu Island and a distant island to the southwestNintendo Switch 2
Current point
First session: I played Thumb Wrestling, Table Tennis, Prop Plane flying, and Power Cruising (the jet ski) with Stuart. I also played Boxing solo and then with Stuart. Every sport was enjoyable, but Table Tennis was the surprise standout. In Prop Plane we explored photo/camera spots around Wuhu Island; I noticed another island far to the southwest and flew there with boost, taking roughly a minute to reach it, then explored.
Next objective
Next time, play more Table Tennis with Stuart or return to the distant southwest island by Prop Plane to find more photo spots. Other sports, Island Crown challenges, and online Pro League are still available to explore; no online rank or score has been recorded yet.

Team and build reminders

  • Played with Stuart: Thumb Wrestling, Table Tennis, Prop Plane and Power Cruising.
  • Boxing: played solo and also with Stuart.
  • All five activities were fun; Table Tennis was the unexpected favorite so far.
  • Prop Plane sightseeing was peaceful. Collected camera/photo markers and followed curiosity toward the far southwest island.
  • Remote island reached using boost in roughly one minute; its in-game name is not confirmed.
  • Spocco Points buy cosmetics; Pro League is online competitive ranking. Do not confuse either with a confirmed worldwide total-points leaderboard.

The relaxing free flight was the unexpected hook. The remote southwest destination might be Wedge Island (that was its name in Wii Sports Resort), but I have not confirmed the name in this game.

Questions I have already answered

All answers →

The ones I catch myself re-asking. Answered once, with the reasoning and the escape hatch.

  • Which Sports Resort activities have Stuart and I tried?

My answerWith Stuart: Thumb Wrestling, Table Tennis, Prop Plane, Power Cruising and Boxing. I also played Boxing solo.

WhyThe official names are Thumb Wrestling (the wrestling), Power Cruising (jet ski) and Prop Plane (flying). Table Tennis surprised me most; I enjoyed every activity and especially the relaxing sightseeing flight.

Can this change?I'll add more sports as we actually play them.

  • Can we earn Sports Resort unlockables playing locally?

My answerYes. Playing sports solo, locally or online earns Spocco Points to spend at the Item Center on rotating cosmetic collections.

WhyNintendo confirms the currency and rotating weekly/monthly collections, alongside offline Island Crown competition and sightseeing collectibles. The unlockables are not limited to online play.

Can this change? The available cosmetic collections rotate over time.

  • Is there an online leaderboard for my total Spocco Points?

My answerPro League is an online competitive rank, not a confirmed global leaderboard sorted by accumulated Spocco Points.

WhyNintendo advertises worldwide Pro League matchmaking by skill. Spocco Points are primarily the cosmetic-item currency. I have not verified an exact global rank or worldwide lifetime-points leaderboard, so do not claim that one exists.

Can this change? The game and its online features may be updated.
